Enterprise mobility management suites enable organizations to integrate and manage mobile devices in their IT infrastructures. End-user computing leaders must act amid rapid market changes to reach both short-term and long-term enterprise mobility objectives. UEM is not limited to PCs, tablets and smartphones. Smart devices, broadly grouped as part of the IoT, will increasingly become included in UEM. Devices such as Apple TVs, printers and smartwatches are identifiable examples of IoT devices managed by EMM tools. However, not all IoT objects will fall under the realm of EMM tools. Some devices may be managed directly by manufacturers. Other types of devices will have proprietary management tools. And many devices will not need to be managed at all. However, it is clear that the diversity and number of devices will continue to grow, and IT organizations must be ready.

The world has changed. Yesterday everyone had a managed PC for work and all enterprise data was behind a firewall. Today, mobile devices are the control panel for our personal and professional lives. This change has contributed to the single largest technology-driven lifestyle change of the last 10 years. As productivity tools, mobile devices now access significantly more data than in years past. This has made mobile the new frontier for a wide spectrum of risk that includes cyber attacks, a range of malware families, non-compliant apps that leak data, and vulnerabilities in device operating systems or apps. A secure digital business ecosystem demands technologies that enable organizations to continuously monitor for threats and provide enterprise-wide visibility into threat intelligence.

Encryption, if properly deployed and managed, is one of the most powerful tools that organizations can use to avoid costly and embarrassing data breaches. Yet organizations struggle with the complexity associated with the technology that often stems from a history of siloed investments of point solutions designed to largely address pools of regulated data associated with a compliance mandate.

In an era of "lean IT," the centralized management capabilities of cloud-managed Wi-Fi make it an attractive option to manage and maintain wireless LANs (WLANs) across multiple locations. The decision to move WLAN management to the cloud requires one key assurance: end-to-end security from user devices to the cloud. This means that user data must be protected over the WAN and in the data center. These security measures should not require on-staff WLAN security expertise to manage. And security measures should be largely transparent to users. This paper provides an overview of the security architecture of Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi, as well as best practices for specific security scenarios.

Location3 client Mountain Mike’s Pizza and their franchisees face significant competitive challenges when advertising on Google, which ultimately requires the need to be both incredibly efficient with campaign setup and incredibly precise when managing bids and local budgets. A quick Google keyword search for “pizza near me” in Mountain Mike’s home state of California yields over 58,000,000 results (“pizza delivery” yields 56,000,000) and often features a predictable set of ad results from industry giants like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, among others. Suffice it to say that buying “pizza”-related terms in AdWords can get incredibly expensive, incredibly quickly, if a local franchisee’s budgets and bids are not managed with precision. When you combine that fact with limited location-level advertising budgets, our team atLocation3 was presented with a significant challenge in helping Mountain Mike’s Pizza generate increases in customer pizza orders whilesimultaneously ensuring that ad spend c

Asian ICT infrastructure investment is exploding as businesses review and modernise their data-centre architectures to keep up with the service demands of a growing and increasingly sophisticated population. Demand for cloud services, particularly to support big-data analytics initiatives, is driving this trend. Frost & Sullivan, for example, believes the Asia-Pacific cloud computing market will grow at 28.4 percent annually through 2022. Despite this growth, many businesses are also rapidly realising that public cloud is not the best solution for every need as they do not always offer the same level of visibility, performance, and control as on-premises infrastructure. This reality is pushing many companies towards the middle ground of hybrid IT, in which applications and infrastructure are distributed across public cloud and self-managed data centre infrastructure. Read about Medical company Mutoh and how it took advantage of the latest technology.

Noble Group needed to revamp its IT approach to support its technology and global business, which had in-house apps spread across 1,000 different servers around the world. Having worked with Rackspace previously, it had confidence in Rackspace’s expertise in IT transformation, and decided to take up its managed public cloud services for Microsoft Azure, and professional services for cloud migration, performance and scalability. Yet, this resulted in greater gained cost-savings and increased agility, as Noble moved its massive workloads to the Azure cloud with round-the-clock expertise from Rackspace. This proved to be a wise choice. To adapt to Noble Group’s fast changing business model, Rackspace needed to migrate 60 percent of its resources from on-premises infrastructure to Azure, following eight months of planning. At the end of the cloud migration, Noble Group successfully reduced the 2,000 servers from its infrastructure to just 200 servers.
