This paper covers some of the critical security gaps todayís mobile-cloud enterprises must address: ē Unsecured devices. Unsecured devices allow users to easily access business data from mobile apps or cloud services simply by entering their credentials into an app or browser on the device. Once on the device, data can be easily compromised or shared with unauthorized, external sources. ē Unmanaged apps. These typically include business apps, such as Office 365 productivity apps, that the user has downloaded from a personal app store instead of the enterprise app store. As a result, these apps are not under IT control but can still be used to access business content once the user enters his or her credentials. ē Unsanctioned cloud services. Most enterprise cloud services have associated ecosystems of apps and services that integrate using APIs. While the enterprise cloud service might be sanctioned, apps and services from its ecosystem might not be.

Thatís why companies of all types are moving to empower their mobile workforce and engage with customers in innovative ways. To realize their potential, enterprises need to find ways to make a mobile workforce as productive when theyíre away from the office and on their mobile devices as they are in the office. This means mobility systems must give users a seamless experience across the ever-expanding types of mobile devices employees use, for easy access to business-critical applications. Enterprise conferencing and collaboration technologies today stand at an exciting crossroads. Solutions that were once considered consumer technologies are moving into the enterprise. Never has this trend been more pronounced than now, as consumerization of IT and mobile device proliferation increasingly break down the walls between business and consumer use. As a result, enterprise solutions must become increasingly simpler to deploy and more intuitive to use. At the same time they must deliver a secure and seamless communications experience. As the worlds of consumer and business communications blend, walking the line between the two has become top of mind for users and IT decision makers alike. Businesses must capitalize on these tectonic shifts in user preferences by deploying agile communications that todayís mobile users need in order to collaborate effectively wherever they are.
