Australian businesses have long been recognised as leaders in the adoption of cloud services and the migration of core infrastructure to cloud platforms. Yet as ambitious ‘cloud-first’ programs are executed, performance and complexity issues have led many organisations to embrace the middle ground – a hybrid IT solution combining public cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Fast-growing hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platforms are increasingly being recognised as an ideal enabler for this strategy, with a software-based design that combines robust computing infrastructure with a high degree of centralisation, integration, flexibility, and analytics-based monitoring and manageability. Read how companies such as Beam Suntory have redefined enterprise architecture and learn more about the way an integrated hyperconverged infrastructure can help you build the right infrastructure for the future.

Asian ICT infrastructure investment is exploding as businesses review and modernise their data-centre architectures to keep up with the service demands of a growing and increasingly sophisticated population. Demand for cloud services, particularly to support big-data analytics initiatives, is driving this trend. Frost & Sullivan, for example, believes the Asia-Pacific cloud computing market will grow at 28.4 percent annually through 2022. Despite this growth, many businesses are also rapidly realising that public cloud is not the best solution for every need as they do not always offer the same level of visibility, performance, and control as on-premises infrastructure. This reality is pushing many companies towards the middle ground of hybrid IT, in which applications and infrastructure are distributed across public cloud and self-managed data centre infrastructure. Read about Medical company Mutoh and how it took advantage of the latest technology.

Key Findings Service-centric cloud ERP solutions have matured and are increasingly being adopted by midsize and large organizations. Many vendors offer service-centric cloud ERP, but their suitability varies by organization size, geographic presence and industry. An emerging competitive differentiator is vendors' delivery of "packaged" integration, which enables customers to loosely couple their cloud ERP products with professional services administration (PSA), CRM and other vertical-specific applications. Cloud-based service-centric solutions now offer feature-parity with, and the same functional depth as, established on-premises solutions.

This white paper considers the pressures that enterprises face as the volume, variety, and velocity of relevant data mount and the time to insight seems unacceptably long. Most IT environments seeking to leverage statistical data in a useful way for analysis that can power decision making must glean that data from many sources, put it together in a relational database that requires special configuration and tuning, and only then make it available for data scientists to build models that are useful for business analysts. The complexity of all this is further compounded by the need to collect and analyze data that may reside in a classic datacenter on the premises as well as in private and public cloud systems. This need demands that the configuration support a hybrid cloud environment. After describing these issues, we consider the usefulness of a purpose-built database system that can accelerate access to and management of relevant data and is designed to deliver high performance for t

Yet, this resulted in greater gained cost-savings and increased agility, as Noble moved its massive workloads to the Azure cloud with round-the-clock expertise from Rackspace. This proved to be a wise choice. To adapt to Noble Group’s fast changing business model, Rackspace needed to migrate 60 percent of its resources from on-premises infrastructure to Azure, following eight months of planning.
