This paper covers some of the critical security gaps today’s mobile-cloud enterprises must address: • Unsecured devices. Unsecured devices allow users to easily access business data from mobile apps or cloud services simply by entering their credentials into an app or browser on the device. Once on the device, data can be easily compromised or shared with unauthorized, external sources. • Unmanaged apps. These typically include business apps, such as Office 365 productivity apps, that the user has downloaded from a personal app store instead of the enterprise app store. As a result, these apps are not under IT control but can still be used to access business content once the user enters his or her credentials. • Unsanctioned cloud services. Most enterprise cloud services have associated ecosystems of apps and services that integrate using APIs. While the enterprise cloud service might be sanctioned, apps and services from its ecosystem might not be.

In recent years, the market for mobile and cloud technologies has completely shifted the behavior of enterprise users. People can now work anywhere, on any device, to access business apps and data from mobile apps and cloud services. Static, perimeter-based security can no longer keep up with all of the endpoints, users, apps, and data that travel far beyond the corporate firewall. Relying on old security approaches like password-only access control is no longer enough to secure this vast mobile-cloud infrastructure — especially since stolen user credentials were the top cause of data breaches in 2017.

The financial services industry is increasingly at a crossroads. Faced with mounting pressure from external forces, such a competition from FinTech companies and a more demanding client base, banks and financial services firms are working to become more customer-centric in their approach to business. However, the need to keep sensitive customer and business information secure and ensure compliance with government regulations can stymie those efforts. The proprietary hardware so prevalent in traditional networks can’t provide what financial institutions need; a growing number, therefore, are turning to software-defined networking (SDN).

Today’s workforce is increasingly nomadic. Employees use personal and company-owned devices – desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones with various operating systems – to access corporate resources over different networks from virtually anywhere. Roaming users and cloud-based applications have eroded the network perimeter where enterprises have traditionally focused their security controls. SymantecTM provides a complete endpoint solution powered by the world’s largest civilian Global Intelligence Network (GIN) to help organizations secure their enterprise and mobile workforce across traditional and modern OS devices used over any network and from any location. Read this white paper to find out more.

Enterprise’s are increasingly under threat from sophisticated attacks. In fact, research has found that threats dwell in a customer’s environment an average of 190 days1. These Advanced Persistent Threats use stealthy techniques to evade detection and bypass traditional security defenses. Once an advanced attack gains access to a customer environment the attacker has many tools to evade detection and begin to exploit valuable resources and data. Security teams face multiple challenges when attempting to detect and fully expose the extent of an advanced attack including manual searches through large and disparate data sources, lack of visibility into critical control points, alert fatigue from false positives, and difficulty identifying and fixing impacted endpoints.

Corporate governance. Capital Requirements. Information Security. Identifying and measuring potential risks help you connect the dots to create a sound ERM program for your organization. In today’s environment of security regulations and requirements, organizations must take a comprehensive approach to ERM to identify and mitigate potential threats. Risk is cumulative, and unidentified weaknesses can quickly spiral out of control, resulting in costly solutions that can lead to reputational damage. The first step in designing a sound ERM program is to understand which components are needed and how to implement them. Ten Steps to Enterprise Risk Management: A Comprehensive Approach Reveals the Big Picture, provides a straight-forward approach to creating a reliable, yet flexible program to address existing threats with the ability to adapt to emerging ones. In the end risk management is everybody’s job – do you have a plan in place to help your employees manage unpredictable threats and

SaaS has fundamentally changed security requirements. We used to just go into work, and everything—corporate applications, sensitive customer data, employee health records, etc.—was within the “safe” four walls of the corporate network behind a firewall. Now employees work remotely and use mobile devices, including unmanaged, personal devices. They access SaaS apps that live in the cloud without any sort of firewall that IT can use to monitor and manage access. Prominent examples include Salesforce.com, Google Apps, Office 365, Box, and many others. As employees use these SaaS apps, they are creating proprietary company data, often confidential in nature, that exists outside the control of IT, creating new challenges for security teams. In this new world, IT needs to track sensitive corporate data in third-party SaaS apps, and ensure that only the right people have the right level of access to it. In this whitepaper, we’ll explain ten steps on how to do that

Consider the volume of business content that your organization generates or receives every day: applications, forms, reports, office documents, audio, video, and even social media about your company. If it is poorly managed, not digitized, or disconnected from critical business processes, it creates chaos. This chaos impacts your ability to deliver exceptional customer service; it slows down important processes, increases security risk, and negatively impacts revenue. Conversely, controlling content chaos can significantly improve your analytics strategy by gaining insight and business value from dark or unstructured data sources. In this eBook, learn how cognitive and cloud-based Enterprise Content Management, or ECM, can help you protect your content while gaining a competitive advantage from it as you grow.

Learn how a security rationalization process helps CISOs optimize your security infrastructure while improving the bottom line. Development velocity is accelerating as enterprises adopt DevOps methodologies, yet security is still not integrated into the coding and deployment processes. Security teams are falling further behind as their manual processes and controls can’t scale at the same rate as development. This paper discusses: The impact the current approach to application security has on business How shifting security left in the application development process, seamlessly integrating it “early and often,” can accelerate innovation Questions the Board and C-suite are now asking about security: are you prepared? Read this paper to learn how, by shifting security left in the development process, it’s now no longer an obstacle to velocity, innovation and competitiveness. Instead, it’s an asset.
